The Green Room

The Green Room is an independent restaurant and bar in Lambeth, South London.
A unique collaboration between the National Theatre and Coin Street Community Builders (a local social enterprise), the Green Room SE1 is an exciting sustainable bar and eatery.
Committed to sourcing their produce and ingredients ethically, the team at Green Room SE1 serve delicious British classics in a diner-style environment. Think atmospheric, relaxed and, possibly more importantly for those unashamed of getting hands-on with their burgers, positively unpretentious.
To start, expect fried calamari with chilli mayo (gf) or cheese and ham croquettes and normally 6 other starters, followed by a choice of 10 mains including an avocado, beetroot, stilton and grilled chicken salad, Baked cod with collard greens and salsa verde, and a suffolk pork belly with grilled scallions, greens & hoisin sauce.
This is a neighbourhood eatery in the heart of the city. Influenced by one of the founding enterprises, the decor is littered with props and scenery recycled from the National Theatre’s previous shows. Outside, expect to find the resilient sustainable garden flourishing in contrast to the tall buildings and grey surfaces, which is managed and maintained by the Bankside Open Spaces Trust and volunteers from the local community.
